Welcome to my recipe journal. I am a long time resident of Paddington. I love to cook. I love to eat. Along the way I love to explore new tastes and flavours.
I believe anyone can cook – all you need is beautiful, fresh ingredients, a wonderful recipe and an open mind. For as long as I can remember I have been sharing recipes, and have lost track of the number of times friends and acquaintances have asked “Where’s the blog?”
After much procrastination, I’ve finally taken the plunge and created my first ever blog. It’s a brave new world and I hope you stay with me on my journey. After all, the first step is always the hardest….
I too am thinking of entering the brave new world of blogging. I am passionate about food and you’re blog has really inspired me. I have been following your blog for a while now and I really enjoy reading it. Keep up the good work!
Hi Sarah. Thank you. The best advice I can give? Just wade on in there and see what happens. I have learnt so much more in the last three months than the previous nine of contemplating the whys and hows. I constantly surprise myself. Just blog about whatever catches your eye or inspires you. Good luck and I hope to be visiting your blog soon.
Hi Paddington Foodie,
I came across your website recently when I was looking for recipes for the 2/5 diet. You like to eat the exact same foods as I do so… Perfect for me! you’ve done all the work and make it so easy. and i get the feeling you like food as much as I do. Work full time- single mum so I am flat out! I have already made about 5 recipes on your blog. I am kinda curious to know how you are going on your diet. I have been doing it for 2 weeks and feel like it is right for me and already seen numbers on the scales that I haven’t seen for a long time. The first day was agony but I went to bed hungry and amazed that i had done it! Next day I can look up your more delicious calorific dishes. PS Ive never written on a blog before but I really like your food and hope you keep it up. Thanks so much. Cheers Pip
Hi Pip
So glad you are enjoying the blog. Yes I love food. That’s why I’ve embarked on the 5:2 diet. So I can indulge on feast days. It really is the foodies diet. I’m averaging a kilo weight loss a month which isn’t bad considering. I’m always fascinated at how much I can put on a plate for a mere 500 calories a day when I use whole food. The rest of my family eat what I do on fast days – just bigger portions and extra carbs. It does get easier the longer you persevere with it. After 4 months I guess I’m used to it. The lure of being able to eat whatever I want next day keeps me going. Usually I wake up next morning feeling fab and not hungry at all. Congratulations on making it through your first two weeks. They’re definitely the hardest.
